Di
Patterson has worked in a wide variety of activities
related to leading and managing multi disciplinary teams
in the areas of: natural resources- including biodiversity,
land protection, and particularly in alpine and Antarctic
environments-and at all levels of government. In 1988
Diana was the first woman to be appointed as a leader
of an Antarctic research station, (Mawson)-a feat she
repeated in 1995 at Davis.
She is Chair of the Mt Buller Alpine Resort
Board, a member of the Victorian Catchment Management
Council and The Alpine Resorts Co-ordinating Council.
From 1999 to 2002 Di was CEO of Surf Coast
Shire, the fastest growing non metropolitan council
in Victoria. Di has been an innovator in the introduction
of Triple Bottom Line Reporting, thus combining her
commitment to community involvement, environmental management
with strategic thinking.
In 1996 she received the National Centre
for Women award as "Outstanding Woman of the Year
in Non Traditional Work"
Educated at Melbourne University
(BA Hons) Di was awarded a University Blue and is an
Adjunct Professor at Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship-Swinburne
University. Di continues to compete in International
Cross Country Ski marathons.
