Dr Robert A. Kelley
University of Melbourne Alumnus
Dr. Robert A. Kelley, B.A., J.D., LL.M.,
CFP has twenty years experience in the fields of corporate
law, tax planning and wealth building.
Since being awarded a Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio
State University in 1978; a Juris
Doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1981;
and a Masters of Laws in Taxation from the Georgetown
University Law Centre in 1982, Rob has pioneered concepts
and techniques that revolutionised charitable giving
as a tax reduction and wealth building technique.
After practicing law in Washington, D.C.
and Newport Beach, California during the early and mid
1980's Rob established The Law Offices of Robert A.
Kelley, P.C. in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1987. The firm
quickly grew into a national law practice renowned not
only for its cutting-edge tax advantaged philanthropic
programs but the design and implementation of charitable
capital raising projects for hospitals, medical research
institutions, universities, religious organisations
and other tax exempt charities.
In 1994, Rob established The Kelley Financial
Group Ltd, an investment firm specialising in the design
and implementation of long-term wealth building plans
which incorporated the charitable giving techniques
designed by Rob's law firm.
In 1998, Merrill Lynch, one of the world's
largest investment firms, hired Rob as its first Financial
Planner in Australia.
In 1999, Rob joined London Partners Australia
Pty Ltd as its Chief International Equities Strategist
and Director of Financial Planning. In May 2000 Rob's
responsibilities were expanded to include the management
of London Partners Foundations. Rob continues to be
a consultant on philanthropic matters.
Following the enactment of Taxation Laws
Amendment Bill (No. 2) 2000, which made charitable giving
of property a significant tax reduction and wealth building
tool, Rob decided to zealously channel his years of
experience into the development of innovative programs
to generate vast amounts of new and more effective philanthropy
in his adopted homeland, Australia.
These new programs are being vigorously
implemented through The Centre For Philanthropy, which
has a national presence representing individuals, corporations,
research institutions, charities, universities and other
types of charitable endeavours.
