In his 35 year career in the advertising industry his work has been well documented in many books and endorsed by the industry's most prestigious national and international award shows.

He won Australia's first Gold Lion for Cinema at the Cannes International Advertising Festival, and is one of the few people to have won the British Design and Art Direction Gold award for advertising, he has been elected to the Clio Hall of Fame in the US, and named Australia's leading creative director.

Australian by birth his previous background included 6 years as a creative Group Head for Young and Rubicam London, and 10 years with Collett Dickenson Pearce & Partners, then generally regarded as the most creative advertising agency in the world.

In 1982 Bob returned to Australia to become a founding partner of the Campaign Palace Sydney.

Bob Isherwood joined Saatchi & Saatchi in 1986 and was appointed Creative Director in 1988, Chairman of the Worldwide Creative board in 1995, and Worldwide Creative Director and member of the Executive Board in 1996.

In 2001, Bob was honored in the RMIT Prominent Alumni Hall of Fame. He is currently based in New York.
